This house was originally built a few miles southwest of Suffield.
During the expansion of Bradley airfield in 1949, the house was sold for $1, under the condition to remove it.
Bought by Phil Johnson, it was hauled by trailer onto the Johnson family’s land on Kent Avenue in Suffield, where Phil raised his family and lived in it until his high 80’s. When the upkeep of the house became too much, it lost some of its previous flair. That’s how it was known to many Suffield residents, who still remember Phil Johnson with a fond smile.
